01Eligibility

To rent a self-drive car from Car's 27 you must be at least 21 years of age and hold a valid Indian driving licence that has been active for a minimum of one year. Tourists may drive on a valid international driving permit alongside their home-country licence.

• The person who books the car must be the person who drives it.
• Only drivers named on the booking are permitted to operate the vehicle.

02Documents & verification

A quick verification is completed before every handover. Please keep the following ready, either uploaded at booking or presented at pickup:

• Valid driving licence (original).
• Aadhaar card, or passport and visa for international guests.
• A second address proof may be requested for luxury vehicles.

03Security deposit

A refundable security deposit is collected before the trip begins. The amount depends on the vehicle category and is returned in full within 3–5 working days of return, after inspection and settlement of any dues such as fuel, extra kilometres or traffic challans.

04Booking & payment

Bookings are confirmed once the rental amount and deposit are received. Rates are quoted per day and clearly shown before you confirm — the price you see is the price you pay.

05Fuel & kilometres

Cars are handed over at a noted fuel level and should be returned at the same level, or the difference is charged at cost. Daily bookings include 250 km per day; weekend plans include 500 km per day. Additional kilometres are billed at a transparent per-kilometre rate disclosed at booking. Monthly and corporate plans include unlimited kilometres.

06Vehicle use

• The vehicle may not be used for racing, off-roading, subletting or any illegal activity.
• Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited and voids all insurance cover.
• Smoking inside the car incurs a cleaning fee.
• The vehicle must not be taken outside the agreed geographic area without prior written approval.

07Insurance & damage

Every car carries valid third-party and comprehensive insurance. In the event of damage, the renter is liable for the applicable excess amount as per the policy. Any accident or damage must be reported to Car's 27 and, where required, to the police immediately.

08Cancellation & refunds

• Free cancellation up to 24 hours before pickup — full refund of the rental amount.
• Cancellations within 24 hours are subject to a one-day rental charge.
• No-shows are non-refundable.

09Liability

Car's 27 maintains its fleet to a high standard, but is not liable for delays, losses or damages arising from mechanical failure, traffic, weather or events beyond reasonable control. Traffic fines and challans incurred during the rental period are the renter's responsibility. These terms are governed by the laws of India and subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Mumbai, Maharashtra.
